Lawrence Mutua

Attending Huron University College, Canada, studying Business Studies. Until June 2023 Lawrence, from Kenya, attended St Andrew’s School, Turi, Kenya, where he was a Beacon School Scholar for 9 years.

Lawrence studied A-levels in Business Studies, Physical Education and Religious Studies. He was a dedicated student with a mature approach to his studies, giving him the best chances for success in his final examinations.

At school, Lawrence enjoyed playing football and hockey, representing his school in both teams during his time there and earning his hockey colour before leaving.

Lawrence enjoyed getting involved with school life and was a prefect in his final year, helping his fellow students in variety of ways, including planning school events, participating in the anti-bullying team, liaising with other year groups and peer counselling.

Lawrence has a passionate commitment to support the Reuben Primary school and visits regularly to support the children there. He has a long and impressive tradition of citizenship, in particular driving the creation of a library development project in his community.

In Beacon Workshops, Lawrence was noted as an open and vibrant leader who encouraged all group members to participate and engage in tasks.
