Leadership Development Module: M13 Inspiring Success – January 2026

Module 13 of our Leadership Development programme focused on Inspiring Success – both in ourselves and others.

Success has very little to do with natural talent; it’s rooted in something much deeper, and it isn’t just about personal achievement. As young people climb the ladder of success, they will find themselves in positions where to be successful, they will need to inspire those around them as they advance on their own journeys.

To support skills of inspiring and motivating others, developed in this online module, groups explored the theme of ‘It takes a village’, role-playing bringing a team together to carry a big project to a successful conclusion.

Here’s a selection of insights workshop participants took from this module as shared on the workshop Padlet:

  • Gabriel: Praising effort improves results; praising ability reduces results.
  • Collins: Success depends on recognising the difference between communication and consultation. People in a team are far more likely to give their best if they feel heard, valued and empowered.
  • Faith: As we were discussing our consultancy plan, I realised that all of us were empowering each other which made me feel confident, motivated and comfortable.
  • Serenae: Empowerment only works when people are trusted with real responsibility, even if that means mistakes might happen.
