Beacon Forever is the community space for all Beacon Changemakers – a community of exceptional young African leaders, both current and former scholars, supported through the Beacon Scholarship programme. The network exists exclusively to serve its members and is proudly operated by Beacon Alumni themselves.
With a clear vision anchored in the idea that “Once a Beacon, Always a Beacon,” Beacon Forever keeps the spirit and mission of the programme alive. It strengthens lifelong connections between scholars and sustains the programme’s impact through peer support, mentorship, and continued leadership development.

From hosting game nights, speaker events like Indaba, to producing original podcasts and workshops, Beacon Alumni actively shape the community they helped build.

In-person or virtual, these are always vibrant, exciting events. The Beacon Forever team have run games afternoons, in-person meet-ups and quiz competitions. Beacon Forever is a vital social space where scholars can connect and socialise during their time in the UK.
Beacon Forever Indabas
Indabas are are virtual meetings or conferences moderated by scholars, and featuring a special guest with relevant professional and personal changemaker qualities. Scholar moderators ensure the content is aligned with participant priorities, as well as gaining valuable experience hosting a virtual event.
Recent guests have included African professionals with experience in the fields of finance, media and law.
