The Trustees of The Beacon Equity Trust (BET) are pleased to announce that two top Kenyan 8-4-4 system secondary schools have joined as Beacon Schools to offer The Beacon Scholarship for Schools.
BET Trustees are delighted to announce that Starehe Boys’ Centre and School, and Alliance Boys High School have joined the Beacon Programme in Kenya.
They join 9 existing Beacon Schools which are committed to developing future leaders for Kenya as part of The Beacon Scholarship for Schools. BET also has partnerships to enable entry into two leading international universities – University of Cambridge and The London School of Economics via The Beacon Scholarship for University.
The Beacon Scholarship at Starehe and Alliance Boys will enable especially gifted children of Kenyan nationality to obtain a high quality secondary education, eventually enabling them to attain leadership positions in Kenya. In addition to a high quality education they will benefit from developing key leadership skills in The Beacon Leadership Development Programme.
Beacon Schools are equal stakeholders, alongside BET and Beacon Scholar parents/guardians/sponsors; each party funds 1/3 of termly tuition fees. The schools are also committed to building the leadership skills of Beacon Scholars, and to mentoring them to help them realise their potential.
