Aloyce Hagila
Attended the International School of Tanganyika, Tanzania, until June 2025. Following high school graduation, Aloyce is pursuing a degree in Computer Science in Germany.
During his time as a Beacon Scholar, Aloyce maintained a strong focus on his academic subjects enabling him to achieve excellent results on leaving High School.
Aloyce enjoyed many co-curricular activities at school. He secured the position of chairman for the security council in DARMUN and his interest in politics encouraged him to also achieve the same position in the AKMUN (Aga Khan MUN). He also enjoys tennis and debate.
Aloyce has a passion to improve education in Tanzania and connected four schools to TEDx Youth Upanga. He designed and led a mentoring programme for new scholarship students, sharing findings with grade leaders to reform school systems. He was a member of the school tech team and a volunteer member of the student council.
Aloyce has a strong sense of citizenship, and at school he led the Eco-vengers club, dealing with recycling and pollution in the school’s community and was responsible for installing multiple recycling systems in school. He designed a wheelchair which was subsequently created and tested in a rehabilitation centre, and uses his IT knowledge to provide tech support at local schools where he acted as an intern.
