Anas Emarah
16 years old, attending St Andrew’s, Turi, Kenya. Anas was awarded a Beacon Scholarship in May 2024.
Anas previously attended Gulab Lochab Academy, Eldoret, where he was noted as a committed and active participant in class and a skilled problem solver. Maths is a particular strength for Anas.
Anas is a keen footballer, and has represented school teams and a local Eldoret team. He has achieved the Bronze President’s Award, is active in scouting and is a Senior Scout. He is a talented runner and has won gold and silver medals in the 800m team relay and 400m respectively.
Anas is very popular with his peers; he has been a school prefect, organising school events and liaising between students and school staff. He initiated improvements in sports provision at his previous school and started inter-school football competitions. He enjoys mentoring younger peers.
A keen football fan, Anas devotes time to coaching younger children at a local team, and also track at a nearby Academy school. He is also involved with fundraising activities for the Scouts.
