Kayla formerly attended Kitengela International School, Kitengela, and is described as a hardworking and creative student who is ambitious and self-driven. She participates actively in STEM projects, showing a particular strength in science subjects.

Enjoying a range of co-curricular activities, Kayla has participated in the World Scholars Tournament and represented her school last year in the Nairobi round, winning several medals. She has also represented her school in netball, swimming and chess; participated in drama to national level and been a key participant in school music festivals.

Kayla is very popular with her peers and has most recently held the role of Class Prefect. Leading by example, she is an excellent communicator, timekeeper and team player.

Kayla volunteers at Nkubu Children’s Home in the holidays and helps care for the children by organising recreational activities, tutoring, and helping with food preparation. She also participates in regular community environmental clean-up initiatives at Maua market in the holidays, working alongside other volunteers to pick up litter, plant trees and organise environmental awareness campaigns.
