Nancy Oundo
Attended Cardiff University, UK and graduated in June 2024. Nancy, from Uganda, was awarded a Beacon Scholarship in 2021 and is currently studying for a Master’s in Corporate Law at the London School of Economics & Political Science.
Nancy graduated with an Upper Second-Class Honours degree in Law. During her time at Cardiff she was an active student, joining the ‘Shadow Module Pilot Scheme’ enabling her to access further academic support for her more technical modules, and also writing academic articles for the ‘The Student Lawyer’. She plans to qualify as a solicitor when she has completed her master’s degree.
Nancy enjoys a range of co-curricular pursuits: she is learning Spanish; she’s a keen archer; a regular ‘Park Runner’ and goes to the gym regularly. She has also been learning Python coding.
Nancy endeavours to maintain a high profile wherever she is based, and this has included Resident Life Assistant roles, involvement with the Afro-Caribbean Society and networking with the Law Society. She remains an active citizen in her home country of Uganda by co-ordinating and running tennis summer camps for local children, and she enjoys getting involved with a wide variety of fundraising events.
Beacon Workshop Participation
Nancy’s 2023 Summer Beacon Citizenship Project was about carrying out summer school academic and tennis coaching at East Kololo Primary School in Uganda.
