The Personal Skills Leadership Workshop was held in Nairobi and, for the first time, in the UK in London. The theme was Emotional Intelligence.
17 Kenya-based and 4 UK-based Beacon Scholars assembled for the first Leadership Workshop of the year. The Workshop was focused on Emotional Intelligence.
UK Workshop
We were fortunate to obtain the services of a professional trainer, Jay Surti, to run the first Workshop in the UK held in London. Our numbers of 4 Beacon Scholars were boosted by 4 visitors, all pursuing their studies in the UK. The Workshop was a trial in anticipation of greatly increased numbers of Beacon Scholars studying in the UK next year.
We’re pleased to report the event was a great success. Scholars were introduced to the key elements of Emotional Intelligence and then participated in a variety of exercises designed to illustrate the different elements. Here are some more photos from the UK Workshop:
Kenya Workshop
All 17 Kenya-based Beacon Scholars attended the Workshop at WEAL House in Nairobi. Dr Susan Kiragu and Ms Debbie Odenyi ran the Workshop, using the same template as the Emotional Intelligence Workshop in London. We were pleased to welcome two new 8-4-4 Scholars and Asad Hussein, a new Beacon Scholar enrolled in the International Foundation Year at Brookhouse School.
