Amy Migunda

Attended Trinity College, Cambridge and graduated in 2023. Amy, from Kenya, was a Beacon University Scholar for 3 years, and a Beacon Schools Scholar for 4 years. After graduating, Amy joined University College London (UCL) to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) to teach Biology.

Amy graduated with a BA in Natural Sciences. During her time in Cambridge, Amy attended many revision and supervision workshops and sessions and submitted her dissertation on time.  She received several PGCE offers before deciding to complete her PGCE at UCL. 

Amy enjoys netball and was an active member of the Trinity College netball team, playing regular matches and tournaments throughout the year. A keen reader, she regularly met with her book club to discuss an eclectic range of titles; she also enjoys poetry and attended workshops and socials put on by the Cambridge Poetry and Prose Soc.

Amy has a keen interest in mentoring and mentors students on the ‘Target Oxbridge’ programme. She enjoys writing and wrote a piece for Black History Month which was displayed in the Trinity College exhibition.

Amy’s Citizenship interests have an increasing education focus: she was the Biology Coordinator for CHaOS (Cambridge Hands-On Science) group, risk assessing the experiments that demonstrators carried out in schools. She also played a key part in their Easter event, which attracted 1000 participants, and their summer tour.
