How Beacon does it
1. Employability pathway
Beacon University Alumni have developed a step-by-step guide to enhance employability post-graduation.
This includes recommended actions for each undergraduate year to increase the likelihood of securing internships and full-time positions.
2. Mentoring & guidance
Beacon University Mentors provide personalised support, guidance, and advice throughout the university journey.
Mentors monitor progress, suggest internship and employment opportunities, and encourage scholars to apply for prizes and awards to differentiate themselves.
3. Work experience and internships
Scholars are encouraged to seek out work experience during holidays and potentially during the academic year, as long as it doesn’t interfere with other commitments. Leadership positions in societies or halls of residence are particularly valuable.
Summer internships, both at home and in the UK, offer valuable resumé-building experience. Beacon Citizenship Projects also provide opportunities to showcase leadership and hands-on skills.
