Maya

Maya shows active participation in schoo life; she was elected as Class Representative and is an active member of the Student Council. Through her new roles she helps to promote and organise school wide events, such as fundraiser weeks, bake sales, dances, movie nights and a talent show. She advocates for her class mates’ interests and designs adverts to increase student engagement and collaboration. Her citizenship includes joining the Student Action Sustainability Society and helping create environmental videos, develop more engaging recycling systems and contribute to the development of a sustainable energy education centre in school.

Beacon Summer Citizenship Project

Maya’s Beacon Summer Citizenship Project was called The Pitch Lab and focused on building public speaking and presenting skills in community schools.
